How much water might there be?
Visitors describe little water or ankle-deep wading near low tide, and thigh- or waist-deep sections near high tide. These are past experiences, not a forecast of what you’ll encounter. Your height and the path you take also matter.

How we choose these times
Two July 2024 visitor discussions describe avoiding approximately two hours before and after high tide. We use that rule to suggest daytime walks, allowing 30 minutes each way by default and favoring starts around 11 AM or 2 PM and about three hours on the beach. Automatic suggestions never start before 10 AM and allow 90 minutes to five hours on the sand. Both walks must fit the tide and daylight guidance. Today switches to tomorrow when no such plan remains. If a return overlaps high tide, we look for a later return; if daylight runs out, we suggest a shorter stay. These are visitor-informed suggestions, not a safe boundary. The app checks the whole walking interval, because the exact time you reach the channel is unknown. Weather, unusual tides and currents can invalidate the rule.
